AIPMO’s specialist courses across PMOs, projects, programs, and portfolios have been developed as part of its work created in a series of books in PMO and PPM Management. The 1- to 3-day courses span the 22 disciplines associated with PMO and PPM management.

Specialist Certifications are for anyone involved in and around PPM and PMO Management. Many of the specialist certifications are also for business functions, which is why this category is not denoted by the word “PMO.” PMOs offer various services, each requiring an in-depth understanding of the topic. The same is true for PPM in general. In the PMO context – Specialist certifications are linked to one or more of the numerous services that PMOs can offer. These courses help to create the competencies required to offer a PMO service and/or the competencies required on PPM to increase the likelihood of success. Hence these courses are for anyone involved in projects, programs, portfolios, and business in general.

AIPMO offers the specialist accreditation with five specialist levels – IPMO-S1 to IPMO-S5, where S5 is the highest level. Achieving IPMO-S1 (Specialist level 1) requires completing 50 contact course hours. An additional 50 contact course hours are needed to progress to the next specialist level. Attaining the S5 certification level requires accumulating a total of 250 contact course hours. You can select any specialist course based on your needs to accrue these contact course hours. Note: Coaching hours are included in the contact hour calculations, provided as part of AIPMO’s partners’ service offerings.
